He further stated that 372,780 candidates have automatically been placed into various schools. However, 165,601 candidates will have to undergo self-placement as they could not be matched to their school of choice.
It is important to note that the admission processes for first-year students are set to begin on February 20. Dr. Nkansah urged students to report to their assigned schools on time to start the process.
The placement of students into Senior High Schools (SHS) and Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions has been a significant concern for both parents and students in Ghana. The government of Ghana, through the Ministry of Education, has released the SHS TVET placement list for 2022 BECE graduates. In this article, we will provide you with all the essential information you need to know about the SHS TVET placement process.
Understanding the SHS TVET Placement Process
The SHS TVET placement process is an online process designed to place qualified students in SHS and TVET institutions across Ghana.
The process is designed to ensure that students are placed in institutions that align with their chosen courses and qualifications. The Ministry of Education has partnered with the Ghana Education Service (GES) to manage the placement process, ensuring that it is transparent, efficient, and effective.
Eligibility for SHS TVET Placement
To be eligible for the SHS TVET placement process, a student must have completed the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The BECE is a national examination taken by all students who have completed Junior High School (JHS) in Ghana. Students who meet the required cut-off point set by the Ministry of Education are eligible for the SHS TVET placement process.
How to Check SHS TVET Placement
To check the SHS TVET placement, a student can visit the official website of the GES, www.ges.gov.gh, and follow the necessary steps to check their placement. Students can also check their placement using their mobile phones by sending an SMS with their index number to a shortcode provided by the GES.
What to Do After Checking SHS TVET Placement
After checking the SHS TVET placement, a student who has been placed in an institution must visit the school to complete the admission process.
The student will be required to provide their placement letter and other necessary documents to the school authorities. It is important to note that students who have not been placed in an institution during the first round of the placement process will be considered during subsequent rounds.
