Born on August 10, 1999, in London, Ontario, Suzuki had a difficult childhood, suffering from several health conditions. However, he persevered and began ice skating at the age of three. He soon discovered a love for the game of hockey and played with his neighbour Isaac Ratcliffe on the London Jr. Knights team.

He led the league with 34 goals and 68 points in 31 games, earning him the title of Alliance Hockey Player of the Year for the 2014-2015 season. He also represented Canada in various international tournaments, winning gold with the Canada White team in the 2015 World U-17 Hockey Challenge and playing for the Canadian under-18 team in the 2016 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.

In the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, Suzuki was selected by the Vegas Golden Knights. He played in 71 games for the team, recording 13 goals and 28 points, before being traded to the Montreal Canadiens in 2018. Since joining the Canadiens, Suzuki has become an integral part of the team’s success, forming an established duo with Cole Caufield on the first line.
