Additionally, Williams is noted for his service in both the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corps, from which he retired after 22 years.

On January 30, 2008, Variety reported that CBS TV Distribution for the 2008–09 season had terminated the show when key Fox-owned stations chose not to renew it. The last episode of the show aired, On May 16, 2008.
