Three 9-year-olds and three adults were killed by a shooter at a private Christian primary school in Nashville.

According to CNN, Monday’s attack was the deadliest school shooting in the United States in nearly a year, and the 19th shooting at a school or institution in 2023 that injured at least one person.

“We are grieving tremendous loss and are in shock coming out of the terror that shattered our school and church. We are focused on loving our students, our families, our faculty and staff and beginning the process of healing,” the school said.

Evelyn Dieckhaus

Evelyn was nine years old, according to authorities. While her family values all of the love and support, they are asking for privacy as they grieve.

Hallie Scruggs

According to a statement issued by Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas, Hallie was 9 years old and the daughter of Covenant Presbyterian Church Lead Pastor Chad Scruggs.

Mike Hill

Police said that Hill, 61, worked as a janitor at the school.

According to its website, which went offline soon after the massacre, he was a member of the facilities staff.

Katherine Koonce

According to the website, Koonce, the head of the institution, was 60 years old.

She received her master’s degree from Georgia State University after attending Vanderbilt and Trevecca Nazarene Universities in Nashville, it was stated.

Two more people were killed

William Kinney, 9, and Cynthia Peak, 61, were also killed, according to authorities.
