Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, is in mourning following the sudden death of his 16-year-old grandson, Kambilichukwu. The young teenager passed away on Wednesday, March 29, after he fell down while playing football with his schoolmates and developed a seizure. Kambilichukwu was rushed to the Mother and Child Hospital in Lagos, where he passed away a few hours later.

Confirming the news to Vanguard, the heartbroken grandfather revealed that his son Yul had called him to break the devastating news.
“Kambilinachukwu is a very quiet, brilliant, and talented child. He’s not somebody you can ride easily. He doesn’t get angry no matter the situation,” Edochie said. “He may change his composure, but he was definitely a very unusual person in so many respects. He was so accomplished. I always tell my son that I don’t like people excelling like this in any thing they are involved in. Experience has taught me that such people don’t last long.”
Edochie, a veteran actor in the Nigerian film industry, said that it was unfortunate that his grandson died at such a young age. “It’s such a tragedy. He had so much promise and potential,” he said.
The family is devastated by the loss, and Edochie revealed that they started praying for Kambilichukwu as soon as they heard about his accident. However, despite their efforts, he sadly passed away.
The news of Kambilichukwu’s death comes just two months after his parents, Yul and May Edochie, celebrated his 16th birthday. Yul Edochie, a popular Nollywood actor, shared the news of his son’s passing on his social media platforms, where he received an outpouring of love and support from fans and fellow actors.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to the Edochie family during this difficult time.
