How to Easily Check Your BECE Placement

Are you a parent or guardian looking to check your ward’s BECE placement? Or are you a BECE candidate seeking to check your placement status? Whatever your case may be, you’re in the right place.

The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is an examination that determines the placement of Junior High School (JHS) students into their preferred Senior High Schools (SHS). Getting the right placement is critical to ensuring that students receive the best education possible.

However, checking the placement status can be a daunting task. In this article, we will guide you through the process and provide answers to some frequently asked questions.

How to Check Your BECE Placement

There are two main ways to check your BECE placement. You can either check it online or via SMS. Here’s how:

  1. Checking Your BECE Placement Online To check your BECE placement online, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Visit the Ghana Education Service (GES) placement portal at https://www.cssps.gov.gh/. Step 2: Enter your 10-digit index number and the year you sat for the BECE. Step 3: Click on the “Check Placement” button to view your placement.

If you’re using a mobile device, ensure that you have a stable internet connection and a web browser installed. If the website is not loading, try refreshing the page or using a different browser.

  1. Checking Your BECE Placement via SMS To check your BECE placement via SMS, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Compose a new text message. Step 2: In the message body, type your 10-digit index number. Step 3: Send the message to the short code 1060. Step 4: Wait for a response from the GES, which will contain your placement details.

It’s important to note that sending an SMS to the short code 1060 costs 1 Ghana cedi. Ensure that you have enough credit on your phone before attempting to check your placement via SMS.
